About Woodland Park
Located in the heart of Collinsville, IL, this attractive and spacious neighborhood park is also Collinsville's most utilized park, regularly drawing families, disc golf players, little league teams, and others to its wooded, rolling, green hills. And it's easy to see why; with its desirable recreation features, convenient location, and outdoorsy yet family-friendly atmosphere, Woodland Park is an ideal place for people of all ages to gather, recreate, play, and create new and lasting memories.
Woodland Park features four playgrounds, several baseball fields, a highly lauded 18-hole disk golf course, pavilions, and more. And if there is a particular playground or amenity you're looking to visit, you'll be pleased to know that accessing it is a breeze due to the abundance of parking options located throughout the park.
Visitors can also explore the park grounds on foot along the woodchip-surfaced paths that meander its hilly terrain; atop the bridges that extend over its lake and streamlets; and at 47 acres, Woodland Park has ample open space to explore off the beaten path, too.
With Woodland Park's amenity-rich offerings and natural beauty, you might be surprised to learn that the parkland was at one time the site of a landfill—the City's first landfill. After it was closed, the area was eventually converted into the remarkable slice of nature that exists today for the public's use and enjoyment.
